0:56Now PlayingSome 60,000 residents were under evacuation orders in the Irvine, California area, as the wind-driven Silverado Fire spread on Monday, October 26, fire officials said.
The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) said the blaze quickly grew to 2,000 acres in a matter of hours on Monday. The OCFA said 500 firefighters were battling the Silverado Fire, but all air support was grounded because of strong winds.
The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning in the area, prompted by heavy winds and dry conditions in Southern California.
This video was posted to Instagram by Don Boyum, who said it was filmed in Irvine. In the video, fire trucks drive by under a hazy sky.
