1:46Now PlayingNew York Governor Andrew Cuomo is highlighting the Javits convention center in New York as an effective COVID vaccination site, but he stressed that Blacks and other minorities are not receiving the vaccines equitably.
"Blacks represent 27% of the people in New York City but only 18 percent of the people vaccinated," Cuomo said, noting that Hispanics and Asians have similarly low levels of vaccinations.
The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center was retrofitted to treat COVID-19 patients last year as New York became the nation's hotspot in the early days of thre pandemic.
Cuomo did not address the scandal surrounding him involving allegations of sexual harassment and undercounting COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes.
On Saturday, two more women who worked for Cuomo publicly accused him of inappropriate behavior, on the heels of other allegations in recent weeks.
