At least 6,650 displaced people from the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh had arrived in Armenia as of Monday evening, the government said after Azerbaijan took control of the area. The Armenian government said it will provide accommodations to refugees in need of housing.
Footage from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty shows people at an aid center in Kornidzor, Armenia, and vehicles stuck in traffic while driving to the Hakari Bridge checkpoint from the Lachin Corridor. Thousands of refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh also arrived in Goris, Armenia, over the weekend, the local Red Cross and reporters said.
