0:34Now PlayingPresident Joe Biden on Monday expressed his support for the United Auto Workers union on the 12th day of its strike against major car makers.
"I think the UAW gave up an incredible amount back when the industry was going under. They gave up everything from their pensions on and they saved the automobile industry," he said. "And I think that now that the industry is roaring back...they should participate in the benefit of that," he added.
Biden plans to join UAW picketers Tuesday, underscoring an allegiance to labor unions that experts say is unparalleled in presidential history.
