0:32Now PlayingUS Secretary of State Marco Rubio welcomed his Indonesian counterpart to the State Department on Wednesday. Indonesia Foreign Minister Sugiono's meeting with Rubio comes at a time where many countries are trying to negotiate tariffs with the Trump administration.
Indonesia will seek to strike trade, investment and financial-sector deals in week-long talks in Washington aimed at forestalling or mitigating planned tariffs from one of its biggest trading partners.
Over the weekend, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro named the United Kingdom, the European Union, India, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Israel as among the nations in active negotiations with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Lutnick and other officials.
