Your four-legged companions are free to fly once more. The CDC has modified the criteria for bringing in dogs from 113 nations in response to outcry from dog owners. Due to rabies concerns, the CDC issued guidelines in October regarding the transportation of pets into the United States. The verdict made it illegal to import or transport dogs from countries with high rabies rates.
Pet owners were outraged. The new restrictions were deemed to be far too strict. Only 60 days after the ban was enacted, the CDC is loosening its restrictions and making it simpler for pet owners to enter the country. The animals must have received a rabies vaccination from a US-approved clinic, be microchipped, and be at least six months old.
