Airbus made headlines after grounding thousands of A320-family aircraft worldwide for urgent safety updates. After a mid-air incident where an A320 suddenly lost altitude, engineers traced the problem to its flight-control computer — likely affected by solar radiation corrupting critical data.

Airbus issued a recall and quickly rolled out software patches across the global fleet. The majority of the roughly 6,000 affected aircraft have already returned to service, with fewer than 100 still awaiting final fixes or hardware upgrades.

In today’s video, Captain Steeeve breaks down what happened, why the recall was necessary, and how pilots manage systems exactly like this to keep you safe on every flight.
