RFK Dispels Myths About Measles "Outbreak"

You’ve likely heard all over the news that a measles outbreak in Texas has been killing children as RFK Jr, an anti-vaxxer, heads up the Dept. of Health & Human Services — but that claim is missing KEY context. The tragic death of two children took place in a Mennonite community, one that is skeptical of vaccines for religious purposes. While not all Mennonite communities are anti-vaccine, this particular one in Texas was.

RFK Jr. attended the funeral of one of the children who tragically passed away, her name was Daisy Hildebrand. He’s been hit left and right by the media for not making a statement quick enough advocating for people to get the MMR vaccine, which vaccinates for measles, mumps, and rubella. RFK did eventually make a statement advocating for the MMR vaccine.

In a CBS interview, Kennedy then claimed that Daisy Hildebrand did not actually pass away from the measles, despite what the media has claimed. He claims that the parents of Hildebrand admitted that their child got the measles and then got over the measles, and she ultimately passed from a mix of illnesses including mono and a bacterial infection.
