Let me be incredibly clear on who this person is. He came to America as a drug dealer and was convicted of FIRST DEGREE KIDNAPPING and was then sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was convicted of kidnapping in 2005 and an immigration judge ordered him to be removed from the country in 2008. BLAIR, the illegal immigrant, filed an appeal with the Board of Immigration Appeals because he would rather stay in the US prison system. When he finished out his sentence in 2020, the Biden administration and the New York State Dept. of Corrections released Blair on parole and ICE arrested him in 2025.
And the New York Times is trying to make this a story about nuance and redemption? They quite literally ask the question “Who deserves to stay?” – the answer is no one. Unless you went through the LEGAL immigration process and did your time and went through the process fair and square the answer is no one.
