West Virginia just expanded constitutional carry to include 18, 19, and 20-year-olds, and that is a major win for gun rights.

In this video, I break down West Virginia HB 4106, signed by Governor Patrick Morrisey, and why this law matters far beyond one state. The bill makes it clear that law-abiding adults ages 18 to 20 can now conceal carry a handgun without a permit, bringing the state’s concealed carry rules in line with its existing open carry law. In other words, this is not about creating some brand-new right. It is about removing an inconsistency that never should have existed in the first place.

I also get into the bigger argument that anti-gun activists never answer honestly: if an 18-year-old is considered old enough to vote, sign a contract, and even serve in the military, how can that same adult suddenly be considered too young to carry a firearm for self-defense? That is not a serious policy position. It is a contradiction.

This video also addresses the common pushback about training requirements, gun violence, and so-called common sense guardrails, and why those arguments almost always end up burdening law-abiding young adults instead of stopping actual criminals who already carry guns illegally. The whole point of constitutional carry is that the government should not require a permission slip or mandatory class before you can exercise a constitutional right.

If you’ve been following West Virginia gun laws, constitutional carry, 18-year-old concealed carry, gun rights for young adults, or the larger national debate over the Second Amendment, this video breaks down why this law is a real win and why other states should be paying attention.
