0:37Now PlayingA college student tried to defend gun control, but one question made the entire argument collapse:
How do you defend yourself from someone who got their gun illegally?
That’s the question Will Witt asked on campus — and instead of answering it, she said, “I’m not quite sure,” then walked off.
And that’s the problem with the entire gun control debate.
Gun laws only restrict the people willing to follow them. Criminals with stolen guns, illegally purchased guns, or guns obtained through straw purchases are not waiting around to comply with the next “common sense” law.
So if the criminal ignores the law, what’s your plan?
A firearm in the hands of a trained, responsible, law-abiding citizen evens the playing field against someone who doesn’t care about your rules.
That’s the answer she walked away from.
And it’s the answer gun control supporters never want to deal with.
