A 45-year-old woman was killed. A teenage employee was hit. And then two armed citizens stepped toward the threat.
They didn’t have to fire a shot. According to the police chief, once the suspect saw armed resistance coming toward him, he turned the gun on himself — and likely prevented even more bloodshed.
This is the part of the “good guy with a gun” conversation the gun control crowd never wants to deal with. Because sometimes the gun doesn’t have to be fired to save lives. Sometimes the presence of prepared, armed citizens changes the entire outcome.
“Nothing ever happens here” is not a self-defense plan.
