6:06Now PlayingGun control support just hit its lowest point in years.
According to new Rasmussen numbers, support for stricter gun control laws fell to 48 percent among likely U.S. voters, while 43 percent now say they oppose stricter laws outright.
That is not the trend anti-gun politicians wanted to see.
But the real story is buried deeper in the poll.
When voters were asked whether they would support a congressional candidate who promised to ban semi-automatic “assault-type” weapons, 46 percent said yes.
That sounds scary until you look at the wording.
“Assault weapon” is not a real firearms category. It is a political marketing term. Most people hear it and picture a machine gun, not the ordinary semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and handguns already owned by millions of Americans.
That is the trick.
Scary term.
Ordinary gun.
In this video, Colion Noir breaks down why gun control support is slipping, how poll wording manipulates public opinion, and why the upcoming Supreme Court fight over AR-15 platform rifles could matter more than any poll number.
