Her husband Bill was convinced Jason killed Shirley to protect a secret affair and secure the family's $5 million farm. Bill and his two other children filed a wrongful death lawsuit and won a $10 million civil judgment against Jason. But at his criminal murder trial in 2019, a jury deliberated just two hours before acquitting him, leaving Shirley's case officially unsolved.
