Her mother’s boyfriend, Stephan Sterns, admitted to sexually abusing Maddie, however would only plead no contest to her murder. Jenn Soto, Maddie’s mother, has never been charged with any crime related to the case, however speculation about her behavior, interviews, and reactions after Maddie was reported missing, has many outraged.
