Historian Robert Singletary talks about how the lumber industry built modern day Coeur d'Alene. A report submitted by the U.S. government in 1898 highlighted Coeur d'Alene's potential as a lumber producer. The report prompted major timber companies to move to the small town creating a boom in the area. Singletary explains how the industry prospered, and what led to the demise of the city's logging industry.
