as posted by the channelHouse Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he thinks the country needs a deal to raise the federal debt ceiling by this weekend. President Biden says he's optimistic about reaching a deal. The two are scheduled to meet again on Tuesday. Encounters at the US southern border have dropped sharply over the past few days. With Customs and Border Patrol reported an approximately 50 percent decrease in encounters compared to the days before the Title 42 border authority expired. It is National Police Week here in DC. We'll hear from today's memorial that honored law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
