It is the fourth day of the Hamas attack and Israeli response that has reportedly killed more than 1,000 in Israel and over 800 in Gaza and the West Bank.
In Washington, U.S. House Republicans meet in closed session to hear campaign pitch from the Members running for Speaker, to fill the post that has been empty since a House vote last week to remove republican Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
But it is unclear whether either of the two frontrunners, Reps. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) can get enough Republican votes to win an absolute majority of the full House to be elected Speaker.
Speaker Pro Temp Patrick McHenry (R-NC) says it is his intent for Republicans to elect a new, permanent speaker this week.
