1:58Now PlayingRep. Ted Lieu (D-CA), the vice chair of the Democratic Caucus, on Tuesday brought up the sexual assault allegations against President Trump contained in the recently released Epstein files.
“Why are Republicans so interested in Bill and Hillary Clinton?” the congressman said at a press conference, days after the Justice Department said it had completed its release of the Epstein files, as required by law.
“It’s because they’re trying to distract from the fact that Donald Trump is in the Epstein files, thousands and thousands of times. In those files, there’s highly disturbing allegations of Donald Trump raping children, of Donald Trump threatening to kill children.”
The Justice Department has said the material cited by Rep. Lieu consists of unverified tips and notes compiled by the FBI and does not represent substantiated allegations. The department said Friday that the claims involving President Trump were false.
