2:19Now PlayingSenate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday slammed President Trump's handling of the military operations against Iran, accusing him of making conflicting statements about how long the war would last and what its objectives were.
"Donald Trump's war with Iran grows more confusing and contradictory by the day," he said on the Senate floor.
On Monday, President Trump said the operation was "very complete, pretty much," but also that "we haven't won enough." On Tuesday morning, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said it would be the "most intense day" yet of American strikes and that the timeline would be up to the president.
"Well, which is it?" Sen. Schumer asked. "Is the war ending, or are we on the brink of the worst fighting yet? How is it possible that Trump and his cronies can't make it 12 hours without contradicting themselves about this war? It's incredible."
