Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday the war in Iran would conclude “very shortly,” but that the “nature of the conclusion” would ultimately be up to the Iranian regime.

He said Iran faces two paths: become a “normal country” and integrate into the global economy, or “stay committed to terrorism” and continue to face economic sanctions.

“I hope that they’re smart. The president has set a deadline for about 12 hours from now in the United States,” he said during a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. “We’re going to find out, but there’s going to be a lot of negotiation between now and then, and I’m hopeful that it gets to a good resolution.”
