2:35Now PlayingPresident Trump said Tuesday he expected the second round of negotiations with Iran to go "pretty quickly" and that he would release the text of the memorandum of understanding "in the next couple of days."
"It's a 60-day period or so. I think it's going to happen fairly on time," he told reporters about the second phase of negotiations that are expected to focus on Iran's nuclear program, among other thorny issues.
"Iran wants to get it done. They have to get back to business, and the relationship now is normalized, so I think it's going to go pretty quickly."
The president, speaking on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France, also said he would soon release the text of the preliminary ceasefire agreement, which has been shrouded in secrecy, even from members of Congress.
"I'd like to get a formal setting first before we do that," he said. "Here's what it says: Iran won't have a nuclear weapon."
The public signing ceremony is set to take place Friday at the Bürgenstock Resort, near Lucerne, Switzerland.
"I'll not only release it, I'll probably have a press conference and read it to you word by word so that the press covers it accurately," the president said.
