"One of the wealthiest, believe it or not, was George Washington," he said Monday in the Oval Office. "George Washington had two desks … one was for business and one was for the presidency. He had two desks in the same room, and so you're allowed to, but I choose not to."
The remarks come as reports estimate the president earned about $636 million from his own cryptocurrency while investors collectively lost an estimated $3.8 billion on the same crypto venture.
"I let my kids do whatever the hell they do they can do. I don't talk to them, ever, talk to them about it," he told reporters. "I'm allowed to, I think — I'm allowed to but I don't bother."
