0:31Now PlayingTaylor Swift paid more than $160,000 to cover the cost of police presence and permits for her wedding to Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) said Friday.
"Taylor Swift will be paying — has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event," he said at a press conference in Kips Bay.
The high-profile wedding required road closures and a heavy police presence, drawing scrutiny as it coincided with the FIFA World Cup, the Knicks' championship and America's 250th anniversary.
Reports estimate the Fourth of July weekend event cost around $30 million, with roughly 1,000 guests in attendance, including Stevie Nicks as a performer and Adam Sandler as the officiant.
