2:49Now PlayingSen. Darline Graham (R-SC) portrayed her lack of political experience as a positive after advancing Tuesday night to a runoff against Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) in the special Republican primary for U.S. Senate in South Carolina.
"I've been accused of not being a politician. Guilty as charged," she told reporters. "I will spend the next two weeks of this runoff meeting with voters, and unlike some politicians, listening to their concerns. Yes, listening to their concerns."
She was appointed to complete the term of her late brother, former Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who died unexpectedly last month amid his campaign for a fifth term in the Senate, and has received the backing of President Trump.
"I'm a fighter. I have buried my precious brother. I have taken on the role of a United States senator, and I have had this brutal campaign schedule, and I'm still standing," she said. "If that doesn't tell you I'm a strong person and a fighter, nothing will. So, I think I can handle the next two weeks."
