This video we tackle the fear of failure. Somewhere in everyone's mind is the fear of doing something and the result of failure if it doesn't work out. This subject is so prominent in our society that we'll need more than a few videos to cover it. We need to split the fear into two different parts:
1) What are the real consequences of failing?
2) What are the worst outcomes that will happen as a result of failing? (If these outcomes happen, how can I recover from them?)
What we find through doing the deep work to look at the fear is that the consequences of failing are rarely bad at all. We build the fear into an unstoppable force in our mind and it causes us to freeze, procrastinate, and not try altogether. In part II of this series, I'll show you a simple exercise to work out the fear on paper.
