In the last few months, Team Fight Tactics, DotA Underlords, and DotA Autochess have formed the basis for a new genre called Autobattlers. Autobattlers are a genre of strategy game where you purchase heroes from a store and upgrade them to make team compositions that fight against other teams for victory in top 8.
There hasn't been a new genre of gaming since Battle Royale, where Fortnite, PUBG, Apex Legends, and others made their appearances. The Battle Royales spawned a whole host of personalities like Ninja, Shroud, Tfue, and more. In this video we look to see if Autobattlers will have the same effect.
Autobattlers have already taken up notice from some of Twitch's biggest streamers. Streamers like Pokimane, Scarra, DisguisedToast, and Hafu are regularly streaming Autobattlers. But do Autobattlers have staying power as a game genre? Will they stand the test of time? In this video we discuss this!
