Redbull recently announced that they were separating from Method Esports to run their own World of Warcraft World first event. A lot of people thought that Redbull would take the lead in watched hours and viewership because they were allegedly paying Guilds to participate in their event. Redbull has since run their world first event for 5-7k concurrent viewers, whereas Method's world first reached 25,000 to 30,000 concurrent viewers.
I got a lot of comments that because Redbull was paying guilds to not go with Method, that Method would fall off and not be successful. In this video we talk about why that didn't happen and isn't likely to happen.
Method has since gone on to run a more successful world first event, and this video goes into why. In this video we talk about the equity that Method has built in 10 years of World of Warcraft esports and world firsts.
