--------
Albert Hughes revealed why he decided to make "The Continental," a prequel series to the popular "John Wick" movies. Hughes said the COVID-19 pandemic played a part in his to decision to shun the reality of his previous work for something more light-hearted. He was approached to direct the three episodes, which tell the story of how Winston came to control of the Continental Hotel in 1970s New York. Initially unwilling to tackle another's creation, he was inspired by seeing other directors produce intriguing work with existing material. He found making the series enjoyable, taking pleasure in the freedom to create without adhering strictly to reality.
