Military veteran Nicholas Irving discussed the harsh realities of war, criticizing the glamorization of soldiers and snipers in media. He believes movies like 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Lone Survivor' do provide some insight into the intensity and reality of combat. However, Irving described how most films fail to capture the full reality of war, as they can only be so graphic and often omit the most disturbing events from the narrative. Illustrating these realities, Irving recounted a horrifying experience in Iraq when a pregnant woman was shot by a sniper while reaching for an AK, resulting in the premature birth of her baby, and mentioned the unimaginable experience of piecing together body parts on the battlefield.
