Joey Merlino recently reflected on a fight that led to his imprisonment for aggravated assault and weapon possession, as well as his family experiences. Merlino narrated a bar brawl where he defended a woman being harassed by three men. This incident resulted in someone getting stabbed, leading to his arrest a year later. Merlino was also barred alongside his father and uncle from every casino in New Jersey. His father, who faced a 45-year sentence for racketeering but was acquitted of a drug trafficking charge, died in jail after serving about 26 years of his sentence. Merlino expressed regret for being prohibited from visiting his ailing father due to his criminal record, but he eventually gained special permission to see him shortly before he passed away.
