--------
In this clip, Joey Merlino recounted his legal battles, which included three RICO cases, implicating him in three murders, two attempted murders, and conspiracy to distribute more than five kilos of cocaine. Despite the gravity of these charges, Merlino maintained his innocence, claiming he was acquitted of everything except for receiving stolen property and gambling - crimes he openly admitted to. Merlino expressed frustration towards the legal system for enabling prosecutors to bring him on trial multiple times for the same charges - a mechanism possible only in state courts. He also pointed blame at the testimonies of informants, which he says were unreliable - one of them was known hitman Pete 'the Crumb,' who had been killing people since the 1940s but claimed Merlino had instructed him to do so. Despite facing life imprisonment twice, Merlino beat every charge.
