Former army sniper Nicholas Irving discussed the perplexing response by the police and Secret Service during a near-assassination attempt on former President Trump. Irving expressed disbelief that law enforcement failed to act swiftly upon being alerted of a man with a gun on a rooftop during Trump's campaign event. Witnesses reportedly informed the police of the armed individual, and there was even video evidence. Yet, the expected immediate reaction, which typically involves securing the area and protecting the VIP, did not happen. Irving recalled a previous incident where Trump was swiftly guarded after someone in the crowd shouted "gun."
Irving was particularly baffled by reports of a local police officer who climbed the rooftop only to retreat after the gunman pointed a rifle at him. Irving suggested that the situation was mishandled, indicating the disparity between standard rapid-response protocols and what actually occurred. The timing of the shots, which went off just nine minutes after Trump's arrival, raises further questions about the effectiveness and readiness of the security measures in place.
