Skinny Keem, once notorious for running a car theft operation for seven years, experienced a dramatic pivot in his life story that caught the interest of Hollywood heavyweights, including Disney and Netflix. Despite the allure of a criminal past, it was the narrative potential of his life story that prompted major studios to option his life rights. Skinny Keem revealed that Disney initially optioned his story for two years, and later, ABC Signature stepped in, ultimately writing a script after securing a two-year option. However, the Writers Guild strike disrupted potential developments, resulting in Keem reclaiming his life rights.
Though the financial gain from these deals wasn't enough to completely deter him from his former life, Keem admits he's now committed to living a crime-free life. The self-proclaimed former car thief asserts he's created enough of a financial cushion to avoid returning to illegal activities. As Keem reflects on the less organized current crime operations, he considers himself fortunate to have escaped the life without significant jail time, hoping to inspire others to find legal means of success.
