If you go online you'll find dozens of ads for ADHD testing - rating scale surveys, neuropsychological testing of executive functions, and brain imaging with EEG or PET scans. None of this is necessary for diagnosing ADHD, and most of it is expensive and misleading. Some tests may play a narrower role in helping rule in or out the presence of conditions that may co-occur, or resemble ADHD.
