ADHD isn't a categorical yes/no condition, it exists along a spectrum of intensity. ADHD isn't determined solely by genetics - our experiences, environment, and habits enable us to slide along the ADHD spectrum. Immersion in the on-line world isn't the only factor propelling people further along the ADHD spectrum - poor sleep, trauma, loneliness, and long COVID are all forces that affect the prefrontal cortex, alter executive functions, and produce symptoms of ADHD. Many of the treatments that help those with clinical ADHD are also useful for those with subthreshold ADHD.
