Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) told Drop Site’s Julian Andreone that blaming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alone for Israel’s actions is a “cop out.”
She argues the issue goes beyond the leader — who has an ICC warrant out for his arrest — pointing instead to the Israeli government, military actions, and broader public support. Omar cited polls showing that a majority of Israeli citizens support the genocide in Gaza, ethnic cleansing in Lebanon and the war of aggression in Iran.
Her comments come as a new poll from Drop Site and Zeteo in Michigan found that 64% of likely Democratic primary voters are less likely to support candidates who receive donations from AIPAC, while just 10% said they are more likely.
