6:26Now PlayingScientists say the risk of a volcanic eruption in Iceland remains high, even though seismic activity has decreased in the past few days. A state of emergency remains in effect and some 4,000 residents of the town of Grindavik near the capital Reykjavik have been evacuated as a precaution. On Monday they were permitted to enter their homes for a few minutes to gather essentials.
For more we are joined by Ari Trausti Gudmundsson, an Icelandic geologist and journalist, in Iceland's capital Reykjavík, just about 40 kilometers away from the evacuated town Grindavik.
