11:25Now PlayingIsrael's restrictions on aid deliveries into Gaza over the past few months have generated a humanitarian crisis. As a result of mounting international pressure, Israel has begun letting in a trickle of aid into the enclave. In response to the increasing starvation in Gaza, some of Israel's closest allies have appeared to toughen their stance, reiterating the need for a two-state solution. On Friday, France said it would formally recognize a Palestinian state in September. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer now says he will follow suit - unless the Israel government takes steps to end what he described as the 'appalling situation' in Gaza.
DW spoke to Oliver McTernan, conflict resolution expert and co-founder and director of Forward Thinking, a charity working toward providing solutions to bring about peace.
