7:11Now PlayingAt a United Nations meeting on a two-state solution in the Middle East, France has called on the European Union to pressure Israel to come to the negotiating table.
French foreign minister Jean-Noël Barrot, together with his Saudi counterpart, said the time for a political solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is now. Barrot urged the European Commission to pressure Israel to remove its financial blockade, stop settlement building in the West Bank, and end the quote "militarized" food delivery system.
Meanwhile, for the first time since the October 7 attacks by Hamas, two major Israeli human rights groups have accused Israel's government of committing genocide in Gaza.
