as posted by the channelIDAHO FALLS -- Idaho State University has a new broadcast home for men’s basketball and football.
KEIR 101.1 FM, owned by Riverbend Communications, is now the official radio partner for ISU. As part of the new partnership, EastIdahoNews.com, in conjunction with KEIR, will be streaming the ISU’s Coaches Show this fall immediately following a live radio broadcast of the program.
KISU FM Radio Director Jerry Miller, known as the Voice of the Bengals, said the change will be an opportunity to attract more people to its current its fan base, and reach untapped resources.
“In past years ISU games have always been carried on Pocatello stations, and this definitely expands our scope,” Miller said.
Miller said this year's ISU’s football season, starting in September, will be one fan’s can look forward to.
ISU Athletic Director Jeff Tingey, said the most important goal of the radio partnership is to promote university athletics. “We’ve got a lot of opportunities. We’ve got a great brand. We’ve got a great story,” Tingey said.
Dylan Carder host of the Idaho morning news, as well as ISU graduate, said he was excited to bring ISU football and men’s basketball to the East Idaho area.
“We’re the eastern Idaho School. All the other divisions one schools, they’re there like miles, and light years away. It’s great to be able to bring Idaho State Football to all of eastern Idaho.”
Live broadcasts of ISU sports will begin this fall on KEIR 101.1 FM.
