2:11Now PlayingIDAHO FALLS -- A pickup truck started on fire and burst into flames Thursday night - resulting in minor explosions and a brief road closure along 17th Street.
David Dickson, the owner of the truck, says he was at 17th Street and Ross Ave. around 7:00 p.m. when the truck started to jerk and smoke began pouring from under the hood.
He pulled over, opened the hood and says there was a fire in the engine.
Within seconds, Dickson says the truck burst into flames. Video, shot by a passerby, shows the flames were 30-40 feet in the air at one point - scorching power lines above the truck.
Minor explosions were heard, likely from new tires Dickson says were just installed on the truck this week.
Firefighters arrived and the fire was out within 15 minutes. Crews say nobody was injured.
