SOT: “I’m a little skeptical of tripping over him and forgetting the dance in front of my peers, but it’s a new experience, and it’s fun so I’m excited,” Miss Idaho Falls Christina Christensen says.
VO: Dancing with the Idaho Falls Stars is a fundraising event hosted by Relay for Life, where local celebrities and dancers perform to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
SOT: “A lot of times people forget that it is a fundraising benefit for Relay for life, because they’re just very excited to be entertained for the night,” Idaho Falls Relay For Life Event Director Jennifer Moulton said.
VO: Local celebs and dancers from Extreme Ballroom only have hours to perfect a number that will win them cash votes on the big night.
SOT: “They don’t even really do anything to prepare they get in here and they are just inspired by all the different dances that they’ve already learned,” Extreme Ballroom employee Rose Bennett said.
VO: For Kolby Hillman and other dancers it’s their first time dancing in this event, but they’re confident in their choreography.
SOT: “I want to pull the audience in with us. I hope we can leave the audience feeling something, feeling like they’ve been apart of the story,” dancer Kolby Hillman said.
STANDUP: Dancing with the Idaho Falls Stars is this Thursday Feb. 4 (at the Civic Auditorium) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and it only costs $1, but if you can’t come go online and donate there. Reporting from Idaho Falls, I’m Natalia Hepworth, EastIdahoNews.com
