BLACKFOOT — An undocumented immigrant living in Blackfoot is facing 21 charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under the age of 16.
Oscar Ramirez Acevedo, 38, was arrested and booked into the Bingham County Jail Wednesday on $250,000 bond.
Acevedo is accused of sexually abusing a child known to him multiple times on or between Jan. 1, 2015 and Jan. 1, 2016.
Police received a report of the abuse earlier this month and began an investigation before arresting Acevedo.
An immigration hold has been placed on Acevedo as he is an undocumented immigrant, according to Bingham County prosecutor Cleve Colson.
Acevedo is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 3.
