2:09Now PlayingStandup: I’m Natalia Hepworth in Idaho Falls at Love at First Bite. It’s exactly the place you need to be if your looking for seasonal decorations, and also fall goodies.
SOT: “We do truffles, we dip pretzels in chocolate and caramel those are really popular. We do toffee, and fudge and we glaze our own almonds, and we do biscotti and cookies,” owner Juli Richards says.
VO: Love at First Bite Mercantile offers up everything from delicious homemade goodies, and home décor, to fancy cheeses, and flavored cooking oils and vinegars.
SOT: “We kind of have a little bit of everything to offer,” Richards said.
VO: When she started the shop 6 years ago Richards only specialized certain indulgent eats and sold complimentary items.
SOT: “We started out with chocolates and cupcakes and little gift items and things like that. Then we’ve expanded to more olive oils and balsamic vinegars now, more food items, specialty food items,” Richards said.
VO: With all of the countless options for yum, Richards says there is one treat she never get’s tired of.
SOT: “I love cupcakes and cake things, so that’s my weakness,” Richards says. “We do cupcakes every morning.”
Owner Juli Richards says there isn’t just one type of treat people are always looking for, but customers seem to love everything. Items like the specialty cupcakes, chocolate truffles, and hand dipped pretzels are all popular.
SOT: “I do like the truffles a lot,” Customer Joan Cornia says.
If customers looking for something a little more seasonal Richards says to go for the any of her pumpkin goodies like the pumpkin and pecan bars, and the pumpkin cupcakes and cookies. She said next week she’s starting decoration for her Halloween cupcakes, sugar cookies and pretzels.
VO: “I enjoy making yummy things to eat,” Richards says.
Standup: Whether it’s the chocolate truffle or the pretzels dipped in chocolate, you can’t go wrong. If you have any suggestions for our next East Idaho Eats email me at Natalia@EastIdahoNews.com.
