as posted by the channelPLANO — A bald eagle was rescued Tuesday morning after becoming caught in power lines over a residential area on 4000 West in Plano.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 10 a.m. that the bird had become stuck at the top of the pole and was unable to fly away.
“We went out there and called our partners at Idaho Fish and Game and Rocky Mountain Power,” Madison County Sheriff Deputy Alyssa Evans told EastIdahoNews.com. “They were able to come and help free the bird.”
A Rocky Mountain Power lineman discovered the eagle’s foot was caught on the power pole and after some maneuvering the bird flew away to a nearby river around 10:30 a.m.
“Our linemen are often called to work under unusual and difficult circumstances and we are pleased this rescue attempt was successful,” Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Paul Murphy said.
