astIdahoNews.com is partnering with Smith Honda in Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.

We recently received an email about a young woman named Brynlee in Rexburg. It said:

Brynlee Grover is 17 and will be a senior at Madison High School. She’s the salt-of-the-earth type of girl.

Last fall, she heard of a school trip to Europe to study the Holocaust. She came home excited and wanted to go. Her parents told her she had to earn the money.

She started hand crocheting Highland Cows and selling them for $45 each.

Last month she went on the trip after raising all the money, but she still had some leftover cows. Instead of selling those remaining cows, she donated them to the Madison Memorial Cancer Center.

Crocheted by hand, given a tag and bell, each cow different and stamped with a brand, name or number. Each one also has her initials and the number of cow she has made.

Brynlee’s dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer four years ago. He is currently in remission, but she knows the heartache of the word “cancer.” So she wants to give those, either fighting or have a loved one fighting, a snuggle buddy.

She is a girl who doesn’t want the attention, would rather serve in silence, but I thought this was pretty cool.

We decided to pay Brynlee a visit and surprise her for Feel Good Friday. Check out the video in the player above!

If you’re interested in purchasing a cow from Brynlee, you can email her at bkcreations208@yahoo.com.
