Zareen Khan: 'Salman is a friend and just a phone call away, but I can't be a monkey on his back'

Bollywood diva Zareen Khan started her career in 2010 alongside Salman Khan in 'Veer', and she feels that people still think that all the work she has done till now post her debut is through him, which in her own words 'undermines her struggle' and the 'hard work' she has done till date. The beauty admits that she got her first break because of Salman otherwise she 'would’ve never entered the industry', but according to Zareen, her struggle started after doing 'Veer.' The actress revealed this during an interaction with a leading daily and added, 'My struggle started after I became a part of the industry because then I knew nothing. Salman is an amazing person but he is also a busy man. I cannot be a monkey on his back and bother him for little things. A lot of people to date think that all the work I do is through him and that’s not true. Salman is a friend and just a phone call away but I’m not pestering him. And that undermines the struggle, the hard work that I’ve done.' Zareen, who is known for her work in films like 'Hate Story 3', 'Housefull 2', 'Wajah Tum Ho', thinks that she has not been able to showcase her talent because of some prejudice and said, 'I wanted to do good work but I wasn’t allowed to show my acting talent and what I could bring to the table. There were preconceived notions about me, as I was just a pretty face.' During the conversation Zareen agreed that 'actors are insecure' and said that she has never been a part of the rat race and is very content with what she has. However, she knows that she too is 'replaceable right now' and added, 'Unless you are an A-lister, people won’t wait for you.' On professional front, Zareen Khan was last seen in Harish Vyas directorial 'Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele,' which was released in 2021.
