Writer Naresh Kathooria sends legal notice to the makers of ‘Dream Girl 2’: Reports

Days after the trailer of ‘Dream Girl 2’ released, the makers of the film seem to be in a legal trouble. According to reports, Naresh Kathooria who was all set to make his Bollywood debut as a scriptwriter has sent a legal notice to the makers of the Ayushmann Khurrana-Ananya Panday starrer for not including his name in the credit slate on the trailer. Reportedly, Naresh’s notice claims that he wrote the script & screenplay of the movie and under the Writer Agreement, he and the makers had decided that his name will be mentioned in the credit slate that will be in all ‘print media, trailer, and in all publicity, advertising, marketing material’. Reports further stated that the makers wanted to add director Raaj Shaandliyaa’s name in the ‘Story by’ section of credits in the trailer, however Naresh had conveyed it to them that it would mislead everyone since the story doesn’t belong to him. Later, it came as a shock to the writer that his name was excluded and replaced with Raaj’s name in the trailer. His notice reportedly claims that he wants an amount of Rs 10 crores for breaching the Writer Agreement and for the ‘damages suffered on account of loss of reputation, opportunity loss, embarrassment, and mental agony’. He has also demanded the trailer to be taken down to add his name in all promotional, advertising, publicity and marketing materials of the film. Naresh Kathooria has made a name for himself in the Punjabi entertainment industry as a screenwriter, producer and an actor.
