Pakistan's cricket team recently landed in India after seven years to play in the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, scheduled to take place from October 5th. With the arrival of men in green, filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, who helmed Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Raees', has now expressed his hope that actors and musicians from the neighbouring country will also be allowed to perform in the nation. Taking to his X account, formerly known as Twitter, the filmmaker wrote, 'Now that #Pakistani cricketers are officially here, can we also invite Pakistani actors to act in our films? Or Musicians to perform?' Soon this post went viral on social media as netizens rushed to the comment section to pen their reactions. While one said, 'Kyu India me actors, singers ki kami hai kya?', another wrote, 'Why people of Bollywood are obsessed with Pakistanis'. 'There is so much talent in acting and music....why not give them a proper chance first, before inviting others?', said another user. Notably, Dholakia's directorial 'Raees’ marked the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. However, months before the film's release, relations between both nations became tense due to the Uri attack, which led to the ban on Pakistani artists in India.
